The Little Green House Story

The Little Green House was started in February 2008 by Michelle Myers - above. Michelle says;
"I am a busy mum to two gorgeous little girls and like most parents, I want the best for my children. I decided to create The Little Green House after realising that there were no classes on offer in Northampton that allowed young children to explore food, gardening and get involved with saving the earth!"
"I obtained a BSc Hons degree in Psychology in 2000, and it was during my studies of Child Psychology that I discovered the wonderful world of Montessori, where children are encouraged to follow their own path of learning. I aspire to be 'green' in everything I do, and feel getting children involved whilst they are young will inspire them to follow a greener lifestyle themselves. I have worked in Schools and Children's homes and adult education, however none of this experience can compare to the education I received when I became a mummy!"
Michelle has recently joined forces with Becky Aldred, who she met through The Little Green House when Becky's daughter attended some of the sessions.
Becky said;
"When I found out about The Little Green House & Eco Kids, I thought it sounded like a fantastic idea. I loved the fact that the children can learn about fresh organic food, cookery & gardening in such a lovely environment."
"My own daughter doesn't attend nursery, so it was fantastic to find The Little Green House - where she can have fun, meet other children & learn."
Becky was such a strong advocate for The Little Green House, as well as being a fantastic cook & keen gardener, that when a partnership opportunity arose, it seemed the natural choice to join forces to take The Little Green House to the next level.
Becky is also a registered nurse and big fan of the Montessori approach to child led learning and development.
